Tyler Henderson of Sullivan, IL, has been named Assistant Director of Choir and Show Choirs at Northwest Rankin High School in Flowood.
Henderson, a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Millikin University, has vast experience with show choir, including ability in directing, show design, vocal and instrumental music arranging, and composition. He has served as principal arranger for the Northwest Rankin Choral Music program since 2020.
"I am thrilled to be stepping into this new role in a new state! I am enthusiastic to begin work with Northwest's fabulous and dedicated students and staff, " said Henderson. Henderson has been director and arranger for Sullivan High School in Sullivan, Illinois, for the past two years. In just two years, Henderson transformed a struggling middle and high school choral music program into a flourishing competitive program on the central Illinois show choir circuit.
Tyler brings experience in instrumental and vocal arranging to the table and is an energetic, vibrant educator. I am eager to collaborate with Mr. Henderson as we continue our journey of excellence on both the Choir and Show Choir scene at Northwest," said Director of Choral Activities, Toney Keeler.
Mr. Henderson's duties with the choral program will include arranging for performing ensembles, assisting in directing choral ensembles, and conducting the Ambassadors Show Choir Instrumental Pit. Mr. Henderson begins work with NWR Choral Music August 1, 2023.
