The Renaissance and Resonance Choral Ensembles of Northwest Rankin High School celebrate the 5th Annual Renaissance Madrigal Feast. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis, an in-person Madrigal Feaste was not realized. However, the ensembles are pleased to continue the pomp and pageantry of the Madrigal Feaste in virtual format this year.
Virtual audiences will be treated to recordings of music and entertainment from the December 11, 2020 filming of the event. The Madrigal Feaste is an annual fund-raising event for NWR's Choral Music Department featuring the choral ensembles that specialize in performing Medieval and Renaissance music.
The singers, in Renaissance garb, will portray a sixteenth-century king, queen, and court who have invited the audience to a Christmas feast in the castle’s great hall. The virtual recording features a concert of music with performances of several traditional carols including “The Boar’s Head Carol,” “Gloucestershire Wassail,” and of course, “The Benediction" by Peter Lutkin.
Our thanks to the NWR Thespian Troupe #5727 and The NWR Forensics Team for aiding in audio/video production and scenic design.
